Our Day after Thanksgiving Adventures did not include shopping. Oh no. Forget hostile shopping crowds when we can pack 5 people into a trailblazer and drive to the top of Smith Mountain for amazing views of Smith Mountain Lake from 1200 feet up. The only downside, is that one could really use a chainsaw to get the trees out of the way for a better view. Fall is best for viewing, so the view can be seen between the leaf-less tree branches.
The night after Thanksgiving was topped off with a trip to the movie theater to see "Walk the Line", a Johnny Cash bio of his early years. A very good movie. It is centered around how Johnny got his start, his music, his drug addiction, and his true love, June Carter. The movie was 2 hours 13 minutes, but everyone agreed that we could have easily watched 15 more minutes. The other highlight of the movie is that Joaquin Phoenix (Johnny) and Reese Witherspoon (June Carter) sang all of the music in the movie themselves.
